Dolan Proposes Foreclosure Mediation Bill

Many times when a homeowner faces a foreclosure they have trouble communicating with their lender to see if something could be worked out, like a new payment schedule or loan modification.

In some cases, the borrower might not be entirely sure who the lender is, especially as mortgages are frequently sold and companies or subsidiaries change names.

House Bill 306, introduced by state Rep. Matt Dolan, R-Russell Township, would require the lender to engage in mediation with a homeowner. Read more about the  foreclosure mediation bill
