Naples Foreclosure Workshop Aims to Help Homeowners

Facing the threat of losing their home, Rex and Sarah Fritchey traveled many miles for a face-to-face meeting with their lender.

On Wednesday, the couple drove from Lehigh Acres to North Naples to take advantage of a free workshop sponsored by Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Alex Sink, and the state’s Department of Financial Services. The Fritcheys, both 71, hope to modify their mortgage and save their home.

The couple, who retired in 1986 from their landscaping business of 23 years, are struggling to afford their monthly payments.

Foreclosure Workshop: Experts Help in Legal Process

Almost 300 citizens gathered Monday night for a Foreclosure Workshop hosted by the Collier County Foreclosure Task Force to find their way through a maze of economic woes that could lead to financial ruin and homelessness for some.

After a brief introductory message from attorney Katherine Passidomo in the auditorium at Gulf Coast High School, participants were directed to the cafeteria, where an array of government agencies and pro bono attorneys had assembled to distribute information and advice. Maryland Congressman to Host Foreclosure Workshop

U.S. Rep. Frank Kratovil will be hosting a foreclosure prevention workshop this Saturday afternoon at Maces Lane Middle School in Cambridge.

The workshop is open to any residents of Maryland’s 1st congressional district currently facing or at risk of facing foreclosure. Counselors and representatives of major lenders will be on hand to meet with attendees individually to discuss what options are available to help homeowners stay in their home. City of North Las Vegas Foreclosure Workshops

The City of North Las Vegas will hold two day-long workshops for homeowners facing foreclosure at Aliante Station Hotel and Casino, 7300 Aliante Parkway.   The first workshop will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24.  The second workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.

Participants are invited to attend one of the two events, where they can meet with lenders face-to-face, work with non-profit counseling agencies and explore options to prevent foreclosure, including loan modifications.
