Ex-Credit Suisse Broker Pleads Guilty to Fraud

A former Credit Suisse Group AG broker pleaded guilty on Wednesday to fraud charges stemming from the sale of auction-rate securities, one of the first prosecutions arising from the credit crunch.

Julian Tzolov, 36, also pleaded guilty to bail jumping, two days after being escorted by FBI agents back to the United States from Spain. He had fled house arrest in May and was apprehended last week. Read more about the Credit Suisse broker

Mortgage Broker Guilty in Fraud Scheme

A Minneapolis man pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to wire fraud and tax evasion in connection with a mortgage fraud scheme, federal prosecutors said.

As part of the agreement, Frederick Earle Deen III admitted that from September 2005 to July 2007 he and four unidentified individuals knowingly and willfully engaged in a scheme to commit wire fraud, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Frank Magill. Read more about this mortgage broker
